Mohit Jangra – A Rising All-Round Star in Indian Cricket
Mohit Satpal Jangra is an emerging all-rounder in Indian domestic cricket. Born on 27 September 1999 in Lakhimpur, Assam, he is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium-fast bowler, known for his consistent performances with both bat and ball.
He began his professional journey with Uttar Pradesh and represented the India Under-19 team in 2018. He made his T20 debut in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, followed by his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy in 2019. After recovering from an injury, he joined the Mizoram team, where he displayed exceptional all-round capabilities.
In the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Jangra scored 252 runs in just 5 matches at a striking rate of 157.50, becoming one of the tournament’s top performers. His match-winning knock of 67* against Punjab, along with key wickets, highlighted his potential.
In the Ranji Trophy, Jangra impressed with both bat and ball. Over 13 first-class matches, he scored 706 runs, including two centuries and several fifties, and claimed 64 wickets, with a best bowling figure of 6/52.
He also gained valuable overseas experience playing for Highfield Cricket Club in England, where he scored 685 runs and took 73 wickets in just 20 matches, including 2 centuries.
Jangra has trained as a net bowler with IPL teams like Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings and is actively working toward securing an IPL contract.
His strengths include a high strike rate, dependable bowling under pressure, and the ability to perform in critical situations. Mohit Jangra is regarded as a promising all-rounder who is well on his way to making a mark in IPL or India A-level cricket soon.
