Neha Jangra, a resident of Bhatnagar Colony in Jind, is a talented athlete who has earned a distinguished identity at the national level in rowing. Despite coming from a simple rural family background, she has achieved remarkable success through hard work, discipline, and the unwavering support of her family—becoming an inspiration for many young aspirants today.
Neha was born into a cultured and hardworking family. Her father, Mr. Madan Lal Jangra, is engaged in the business of building materials, hardware, and sanitary ware. Along with managing his professional responsibilities, he has always been positive and supportive regarding his daughters’ education and sports careers. His belief that “women must step forward to bring change in society, because men have been struggling for generations” reflects his progressive outlook. Her mother, Mrs. Suman Devi, is a simple and gentle homemaker who encouraged her daughters to dream big even while living in a modest environment. Neha’s grandfather, Late Shri Gulab Singh Jangra, one of the oldest and most respected shopkeepers of Kathmandi, Jind, was known for his discipline, hard work, and social values—principles that still guide the family.
Neha completed her early education in Jind and passed Class 12 from Navdurga Public School, Jind. With a consistent interest in studies, she pursued higher education at Panjab University, where her journey in sports truly began. During various university-level sports activities, her talent came to light, earning her the opportunity to advance further in athletics. Recognizing her dedication, she was selected for professional rowing training at the Bhopal Sports Academy, where she trained rigorously for three consecutive years under disciplined schedules and expert coaching.
Through sheer determination, Neha achieved several significant milestones in rowing. She first secured a place in the All India University Camp, marking the beginning of her competitive journey. She then won a Bronze Medal at the All India Inter University Championships. Her exceptional performance earned her another Bronze Medal at the Khelo India University Games. She further represented India at the international stage by participating in the FISU World University Games. Among her major achievements, she also secured a Silver Medal in the 8th Interstate Challenger National Games, taking her career to new heights.
Neha is the second among three sisters. Her elder sister, Monika, is married, while her younger sister is currently pursuing an M.A. degree. Her entire family, especially her sisters, has always encouraged and supported her at every step.
Today, Neha Jangra stands as a symbol of pride not only for her family but for the entire region. She proves that a girl from a humble background can shine brilliantly on the national stage with hard work, determination, and strong family support. Her journey continues to inspire countless young individuals who dare to dream big despite limited resources.
