Rakesh Jangra – An Inspiring Journey of Struggle, Dedication, and Success
Rakesh Jangra hails from a humble background in village Tikadla, Samalkha, in Panipat district of Haryana. He is the son of Shri Karambir Singh and comes from a simple family with two siblings. Despite limited resources, he never let his dreams fade. Currently, he is serving as a Conductor in Haryana Roadways while also making a strong mark in the field of sports.
In 2008, he faced a major setback due to severe back pain, which affected his sports career significantly. However, instead of giving up, he turned his struggle into strength and made a powerful comeback in 2012.
In his early career, he achieved notable success in running events. He participated in the Haryana Olympic Games in 2001, secured second position in the Under-14 National Games 2021 in the 600-meter race, and also achieved second and third positions in the 1500-meter race at the School National Games. Additionally, he represented at the Senior National Games 2015 in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) in the 5000-meter category.
Driven by his passion for fitness and sports, he began his bodybuilding journey in 2023. Within a short span, he made a remarkable impact on the platform of the Indian Bodybuilding Federation (IBBF). In 2024, he won an impressive total of 4 Gold, 6 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals in IBBF competitions. He also participated in the IBBF Thailand event in 2025 and secured second position in the All Asian Games 2026 in the 65 kg category. Furthermore, he won a Gold Medal in the India Services Tournament.
Rakesh Jangra’s journey is a true testament to hard work, resilience, and determination. His achievements continue to inspire the younger generation, proving that with dedication and courage, no obstacle is too big to overcome.
