Biography

Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district (Tangdhar sector) — Assistant Sub-Inspector Virender Jangra of the Border Security Force (BSF) was martyred in a terrorist attack. On Thursday, his mortal remains were brought to his native village Khedi Jatt in Haryana, where he was cremated with full military honors. His son Ankit performed the last rites, while BSF and Haryana Police personnel gave the final salute with ceremonial gunfire.
According to reports, he was martyred on the night of December 1, 2020, after being hit by bullets during a terrorist attack on a barrack. During the funeral, villagers raised slogans of “Amar Rahe” and paid their tributes, while also consoling the grieving family.
Just hours before his martyrdom, he had spoken to his family over the phone and advised his children to focus on their studies and work with honesty. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. In the village, he was known for his friendly nature and active participation in sports.
We are proud that our brother laid down his life for the nation, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family.
