Early Life and Values:
Born on January 7, 1976, in Ratangarh tehsil of Churu district, Rajasthan—a land known for its valor—Rajkumar Ji was imbued with patriotism from an early age. His father, Shri Govind Ram Jangid, raised him with strong values of honesty and courage. Growing up in the desert region, Rajkumar nurtured a dream of wearing the Indian Army uniform and defending the nation’s borders.
Military Journey (Regiment of Artillery):
Through his hard work and determination, he was recruited into the prestigious 222 Field Regiment of the Regiment of Artillery in the Indian Army. Serving as a Naik, Rajkumar Ji was known in his unit as a disciplined, technically skilled, and brave soldier. He served in various challenging terrains across the country, but his greatest test of bravery came in the year 2020.
Operation Snow Leopard (2020) and Supreme Sacrifice:
In May 2020, during heightened tensions with China in the icy heights of Eastern Ladakh, the Indian Army launched “Operation Snow Leopard.” Naik Rajkumar Ji was deployed in extremely high-altitude and hazardous areas where temperatures drop 30–40 degrees below zero and oxygen levels are critically low.
To safeguard the territorial integrity of the nation, he faced these life-threatening conditions with unwavering courage. During this operation, while performing his duty, he made the supreme sacrifice. His martyrdom came at a time when India was engaged in a historic struggle to protect its borders.
Family and Legacy:
Naik Rajkumar Ji is survived by his proud family. When the tricolor was handed over to them with full military honors after his martyrdom, it was a moment of both immense pride and deep sorrow for the entire Ratangarh region. His father and family continue to take pride in his sacrifice.
