Telu Ram Jangra – An Inspiring Journey of Social Service and Struggle
Telu Ram Jangra’s life is a story of determination and dedication, reflecting how a person from humble beginnings can build a strong identity in both social and political spheres. He was born on 25 March 1969 in village Kamach Khera, located in the Julana tehsil of Jind district, Haryana. Growing up in a rural environment, he closely witnessed life’s struggles, which inspired him from an early age to work for the betterment of society.
He completed his primary education in his village and pursued further studies in nearby schools. His passion for learning took him to Jawaharlal Nehru College in Hansi, where he continued his education. Later, he earned a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. in Political Science) through an open university. Alongside his studies, he consistently showed a deep inclination toward social service.
Apart from his social and political interests, he also demonstrated a strong sense of innovation and technical ability. He developed practical tools to assist farmers and local communities, such as an electricity-powered potter’s wheel and a device designed to extract pipes stuck underground. These efforts highlight his problem-solving mindset and creativity.
His active involvement in social work began at a young age when he became the Block President of the Jangra Brahmin Sabha, Hisar, for Hansi tehsil. Serving in this role for many years, he worked tirelessly to unite and strengthen the community, laying the foundation of his leadership journey.
He stepped into active politics in the 1990s and gradually established his presence through dedication and consistent efforts. In 2003, he formally joined the Indian National Congress and became deeply involved in organizational activities. He held several important positions, particularly focusing on the rights and upliftment of the Other Backward Classes (OBC). He served as District President of the OBC Cell and later as State General Secretary at the Haryana level.
Recognizing his commitment and leadership, he was appointed as a member of the Haryana Backward Classes Commission, where he served for several years and contributed significantly to policies and initiatives aimed at the welfare of backward communities. He also played key roles in various social movements, rallies, and marches that focused on securing rights and representation for marginalized groups.
Telu Ram Jangra strongly believes that the progress of society depends not only on politics but also on awareness, unity, and active participation. He has consistently encouraged people to strengthen their presence across all sectors.
His life stands as a powerful example of struggle, service, innovation, and leadership. Even today, he continues to work with dedication, inspiring the younger generation to contribute meaningfully to society.
